Since the Korean War, both South Korea and North Korea have desperately developed and invested in the military, resulting in numerous military bases across the country. Recently, as the government of South Korea tries to reduce the number of military bases and combine several troops into one by relocating the base, many military towns have been experiencing a crisis in terms of economy, history, and sustainability. The project tries to introduce a sustainable productive ecosystem for Pocheon, by incorporating four types of commons that can rehabilitate the village. It envisions an assemblage of micro-happy spaces throughout the neighborhoods, based on the strong context of a military town.
