Inspired by Antoni Gaudi’s remarkable stoneworks and vernacular architecture in Huesca, the project suggests an artists’ residency integrated with the nature. Respecting the existing landscape of olive trees, the linear stone-architecture is embedded following the slope. Trees are mostly retained and blend into the building. Artists’ residencies, studios and hostels are all connected through the continuous interior and exterior spaces. Structural columns, walls, and roof creating parabolic arches are made of local materials - sandstone and limestone. With a minimized impact on the current landscape, the project tries to embrace the nature and bring it into the architecture.
