Since 1938 when the building was first built, it has experienced numerous transformations in its form and function. Respecting the diverse time layers of the past, the project imagines the old traces and memories to be revitalized through new added layers. The building is located in the center of Seoul, within a complex urban context. It contains a myriad of time layers, involving many historical events and physical transformations. The old traces can easily be found anywhere in the building, not only in its form but also in the atmosphere. The project basically tries to keep the memories the memories and tries to help people recall and meditate within a modern society.
