The project starts from the potential of informal housing in the Southern Argentina region. So-called slums have long been regarded as a problematic cluster of housing that is socially and spatially segregated from the city. The project challenges the negative meaning that ‘slum’ implies, yet tries to celebrate its independent social system. To support this, it focuses on the potential of ‘in-between’ urban spaces that can be used as a platform for urban activities in informal settlements.
